Students will make a large fan and hand applique adornments onto large pieces of fabric.

This decorative plate will then be used to create a beautiful pillow, purse, pouch, wall hanging, or any number of decorative accessories.

The instructor provides the template which is the foundation piece for Grandmother's fan, Tumblers and Endless Chain.
Student Must Bring:
  • ½ yard of background fabric (solid color)

Mohair Teddy Bear

Learn to make a 15" Mohair Teddy Bear with loads of PERSONALITY! In this 2 day class, students will learn how to cut out and sew the Mohair, joint limbs, insert eyes and an easy way to embroider the nose. The second day concentrates on ways to give your bear that special look that says HUG ME. You will also receive ideas and patterns for hats, vests, dresses and small dolls for your Teddy. Beading

Then, explore a suitcase full of flowers and leaves to dress your fairy in your own creative design. Each one will have a totally different look!

This class is perfect for both beginning and advanced doll-makers.

This class teaches using cloth over a Papier Maché face-mask to create your fairy girl.

The Poets:
Armature Renaissance Doll

This class will focus on creating an armature using dowel rods wooden bases, and wire. We then create cloth figures over the armature. Students will prepare the head and hands prior to class and will create the base ahead of time also. The class learns to wrap the armature and then drape fabrics to create these very renaissance looking figures. Once the figure is clothed, spend the remainder of the class embellishing the doll. Student Must Bring:
  • Basic sewing kit including doll needles for sewing, sharps, or in betweens for sewing on little beads
  • Fabri-tac glue or Tacky glue
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
Alice In Wonderland

Sculpted Girl, Boy or Santa

Maude: The Anything Doll

This class is best suited for intermediate to advanced doll-makers.
























Maude is a delightful 14 ½" creature who loves to be a different character each time you make her!

Caution: Maude wakes the instructor at 3:00 a.m. to say what she wants to be next - take this workshop at your own risk!

The two-day workshop will cover the making of Maude, the wire armature body, face and hair.

Two patterns come with the kit. You will then dress basic Maude and make her into any character you choose!

























Student Must Bring:
  • Sewing Machine Required!
  • 1 Fat Quarter Body Fabric (flesh toned for arms and legs to coordinate with her clothing fabric)
  • Clothing Fabric (bring your stash of fabrics and embellishments for your character)
  • Fabric scissors
  • Heavy duty scissors for the cardboard
  • Needle-nose pliers for the wire
  • Thread, needles, pins
Plus Notions:
  • 2-4mm round black beads for eyes
  • 50" - 18 ga. wire
  • Black Button & Craft thread for eyes

Learn to create an elegant silk hat. The hat fits a 13" doll and is trimmed with feathers, braids and other fancy trim. Buckrum and silk combine for a stunning creation which is fun to make.

This delightful accessory doesn't have to fit a doll, it is an impressive, decorative piece sitting on it's own.

This class involves a lot of sewing so your best reading glasses are a must! There is a lot of close work with very small needles.

Anyone will love the class but some sewing experience is helpful.

  • Glasses you use to see close work with
  • Basic sewing kit
  • Very sharp scissors (small embroidery scissors are best)
Silk Shoes with Heel

Can anyone have too many shoes? Leave this class with a delightful pair of silk shoes adorned with lavish ribbons, elaborate trim and a small heel.

You will also learn to make a little silk bag to insert in the shoe that allows you to use them as ornaments instead of shoes.

This class involves very close work with very small needles so bring your reading glasses!

Learn tie-dye and other hand manipulative dyeing techniques in these two half-day classes.

Part I (morning) covers "Introduction to Tie-Dye" and includes a slide show of tie-dyed fabrics, tie-dye basics, working with dyes, folding, clamping, and wrapping. You will make several samples in class and personal projects are encouraged.

Part II (afternoon) This advanced session for experienced tie-dyers or those attending the morning session covers a review of dyeing basics, observation of tie-dyed fabric samples and yardage, tritik, specialty folds and resist methods. Personal projects are encouraged.

Let your creativity flow as you design and create your own fabrics using fabric stamping techniques in these two half-day classes.

Part I (morning) This introductory session covers an introduction to simple hand-printing methods, making your own printing stamps, and design and composition. You will make samples in class and personal projects are encouraged.

Part II (afternoon) This advanced session covers stenciling and hand-painting on fabric. You will create different effects on fabric with deka salt, glitter, metallic, and iridescence paints.
